Milton Obote

Milton Obote was a Ugandan socialist leader who was the Prime Minister of Uganda from it's independence to 1966 and president from 1966 to his first overthrow in 1971 by Idi Amin but he regained power after Amin's overthrow in 1979 only to be overthrown again in 1985. After his second overthrow he lived in Johannesburg for the rest of his life until his death in 2005 from renal failure. He is survived by his wife Miria and his children. The Fox Junta and the Military police sergeant Milton are both named after him.
